Microsoft, Cambridge.
Oggi è stata una giornata davvero pienissima al Computer Lab, con tante cose da fare e tanta gente nuova da incontrare: i vari progetti stanno ingranando e c'è tanta voglia di far bene il proprio lavoro.
Ma oggi ho avuto anche l'occasione per andare a visitare l'edificio che ospita il centro di ricerca Microsoft qui a Cambridge, difatti l'edificio accanto al nostro.
E' stato parecchio divertente e interessante vedere le postazioni Xbox pronte all'uso nei corridoi, la cucina di design in cui vengono studiate le nuove tecnologie, gli spazi comuni in cui c'è tutto a dispozione per lo svago e per mangiare insieme. Un ambiente di lavoro parecchio interessante.
Ma più in generale, è davvero un bell'ambiente anche il Computer Lab: gli stimoli sono sempre efficaci e costanti, i progetti su cui si lavora sono all'avanguardi a e si ha la sensazione di essere continuamente in quel sottile limite tra ciò che c'è già e il futuro.
E difatti, lavorare nella ricerca è un po' come guardare nel futuro, solamente che puoi anche sporcarti le mani e provare e modellare qualcosa.
